Weekly Classes

Classes are usually held at Kings County Academy in Kentville on Friday nights and Dwight Ross Elementary in Greenwood on Monday nights. Occasionally locations may change – please check the calendar below to confirm class location.

For 2026 we are introducing a new lesson and class structure. 

Beginner Program: 

• 10 weeks focused on learning one sword
• Cost $100 per 10-week session
• Ages 11 and up
• Beginner students must either supply their own mask or rent one from the club for $60. At the end of the 10-week session students will have the option to return the mask or to buy it from the club for an additional $60.
• 6-7 PM, Fridays in Kentville starting Friday, January 23rd OR 6-7 PM, Mondays in Greenwood starting Monday, February 9th.

The Beginner class will now run like a traditional martial arts class – Beginner adults and youths will attend the same class. The Beginner class will run from 6-7 PM. Beginner students are invited to stay at the beginning of the Intermediate class from 7-7:30 for foam sparring and games. Discretion will be used for Beginner sparring partners.

-Intermediate Class

• 7-9 PM Mondays in Greenwood or Fridays in Kentville
• Cost $10 per class – purchase a punch pass in 3, 6 or 10 class amounts.

Intermediate students are welcome to attend the Beginner class as part of the program if a sword you would like to learn is being offered.

The first class of January in Kentville will be considered a try-it night and will be included in the 10-week class for this session. 

Snow Day and Cancellation Policy

If school is cancelled in the area, we will be canceling class. For the 10-week Beginner program cancelled classes will be added at the end to make up the 10 weeks.

Cancellations will be communicated via email at the earliest opportunity. The class calendar on our website will also be updated as soon as a change to class is made.
